08:00 AM – Departure from Arusha
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel or lodge in Arusha in a private 4x4 vehicle. Settle in, grab your sunglasses, and enjoy the drive.
As you leave the bustle of Arusha behind, the scenery quickly changes — open savannah, acacia trees, and distant views of Mount Meru and (if it’s clear) the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro on the horizon. The final stretch to Kikuletwa is an adventurous ride through dusty, bumpy roads and local villages. Keep your camera handy — the route is scenic and full of life.
10:00 AM – Arrival at Kikuletwa Hot Springs
You’ll know you’re close when you spot tall palm trees rising from the dry landscape like an oasis — because that’s exactly what this is. Hidden among the dusty plains is a lush, green paradise with turquoise, crystal-clear waters fed by underground geothermal springs.
What to Expect:
- A natural pool with warm, silky water (not boiling, but comfortably warm)
- Tree swings and rope jumps if you're feeling playful
- Shaded areas for lounging, reading, or just soaking in the peaceful atmosphere
- The feeling of being in a secret tropical haven
10:15 AM – Chill, Swim, Swing & Float
There’s no rush here — this is hakuna matata at its finest.
Take your time to:
- Jump in from the rope swing (or ease in slowly — no pressure)
- Let the fish give you a natural pedicure (yes, little ones live here!)
- Float on your back under the overhanging fig trees
- Lounge on the banks with your feet in the water, drink in hand
It’s the kind of place where hours slip by without you realizing.
12:30 PM – Local Lunch at the Springs
By now you’ve worked up an appetite. Nearby food vendors offer freshly grilled local dishes, usually including:
- Chipsi mayai (Tanzanian omelet with fries)
- Mishkaki (beef skewers)
- Chicken, rice, or chapatti
- Cold sodas, beers, or fresh coconuts
There’s something charming about eating a rustic meal surrounded by birdsong and laughter, toes still wet from the spring.
1:30 PM – More Relaxation Time
After lunch, stretch out under the shade, take another swim, or nap in the warm breeze. You can also take a short walk around the area — it’s small but full of natural charm and photo-worthy corners.
For those who like journaling or meditating, this is a soul-soothing spot to take a moment for yourself.
3:00 PM – Depart Back to Arusha
When you’re ready, your driver will meet you for the return journey. Expect to be back in Arusha by 5:00 – 5:30 PM, just in time to catch sunset light washing over Mt. Meru.
